OM2 segment

The Technical Steward for the OM2 segment is ORDERS. This segment contains the attributes of observations with continuous values (including those with data types of numeric, date, or time stamp). It can be applied to observation batteries of type A and C (see OM1-18 - Nature of Service/Test/Observation).

Count the pipes to find a field, and count the empty ones too: an empty field still holds its place. Leave out the separator before OM2-2 and its value arrives as OM2-1, so the receiver stores Units of Measure as Sequence Number - Test/Observation Master File.

This page carries the OM2 field table as published and nothing beyond it. The field notes, vendor behaviour, FHIR mapping and parsing guidance that thePID page has are still to be written for OM2.
