Exercise: openEHR CKM
We’ve been talking about maximal data sets, but where can you find these data sets? openEHR as a whole has an important website that you need to be aware of:
The Clinical Knowledge Manager
The Clinical Knowledge Manager (CKM) is a library where openEHR archetypes and templates are stored and shared. It’s where the openEHR community collaborates on building and refining clinical models, ensuring that models are not created in isolation but benefit from expertise.

Each archetype goes through review and governance before being published, which prevents duplication and ensures clinical safety. Hospitals and vendors can then reuse these trusted models rather than reinventing their own, saving time and improving interoperability.
Because CKM is open and community-driven, it keeps pace with evolving medical knowledge. New archetypes can be created as healthcare practices change, while older ones remain available for backward compatibility.
